I have just been informed that I have been awarded a summer writing fellowship! This is truly fortunate as I have a book project to finish and the prospect of teaching over the summer and finding time to complete the ms was daunting to say the least.
There was an awards ceremony today and some very smart people said nice things about me. It's rather nice to know that I'm not the only one who thinks my work has value.
One of my students was also awarded $200 for an essay he wrote in my class last semester. I kinda love my job.
